No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse. Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.
Matthew 9:16-17 NIV
The ways of the old covenant do not fit into the age of His grace. There is a time for everything under the sun, and it is not for us to decide what each season is designed for. The Spirit helps us to discern what is needed for a given time. We should not try to force old methods and practices into a new season simply because it worked once, and neither should we force novel ideas into a time and place that is not fit for them. We are to seek the will of the Father, the wisdom of the Spirit and the grace of Jesus; He created every season and He knows exactly what each one is for.
